Dance Recital

In the same weekend as Caden's blessing, the girls had their first dance recital together! It was so adorable, and it was fun having all the family their cheering them on. They were excited they got to wear "MAKEUP"!

Teya and Kali are best friends.

Here's their dance teacher...she's so good with the kids.

Baby Blessing

We blessed Caden when he was three weeks old. We were lucky enough to have Ben's brother and sister up from Ut, so we went ahead and did it early. We also had family from Vancouver and Spokane to come support the special event. It's so fun to spend time with our loved ones!

Doesn't he just look so handsome?

This is Chris with his cousin, Braedyn, splashing in the tub together...ahhh...we wish we lived closer to them.

Time With Dad!

After the baby was born, Ben had a whole week and 1/2 off from work so, being the great dad that he is, he spent some quality time with the kids.

1. Daddy Daughter Date

First, he took the two girls on a daddy-daughter date. They went on a real hike...rocky trails, inclines, mud, water. Ben thought it was going to be this easy hike, but it was actually 1 1/2 miles (which doesn't seem that long, but then you have to hike back out...and three miles is a long distance for a little 3 and 5 yr old.) On the way back, Ben picked up both girls and ran part of the way! Whew! The girls had a great time; and even got an ice cream afterwards.

Look at how high one part was...good strong legs!

Who said they could stand that close to the waterfall edge?

Before you get to the waterfall, you have to cross the treacherous mud pit. Ben picked up each one and walked them across individually. Look at Teya waiting so patiently.

2. Father-Son Campout

The next day, Ben and Chris went on their first ever...Father-Son Campout!! Chris loved being outside and next to the fire! He was definitely the youngest camper. All the other boys just loved to entertain him. They had a lot of fun!

Drumroll Please...Introducing...

Caden Jeffrey Winters

A whopping 6 lbs 13 oz and 18" long
Sunday, April 26, 2009 @ 1:22 PM

The Details:
Sunday morning, I started having a few contractions around 6:30 AM, about 7:00 AM I said to Ben that I thought I was in labor...but wasn't for sure since the contractions were kind of sporadic and coming at different intensities. I decided that a few were hurting more and that we definitely needed to get the kids ready go to a friend’s house. You would think I would have this all figured out by my 4th child. By 8:30 AM, we went to the hospital, but walked around outside because I still wasn't sure. Once we decided to check in, I found out I was already dilated to a 7. I don't know if it was psychological, because after that, the contractions really started to hurt. But, once I got my epidural...life was great! Took a nap, relaxed, hung out for a while. I love who ever invented the epidural! Even the after pains didn't hurt at all. The only hiccup was that Caden was stuck and I had to push for 1 1/2 hours. I was pretty tired by the end of it. During the last push, they used a vacuum to help get him out. Don't worry; he only had a cone head for a little bit! The recovery was just great, and Teya, Kali, and Chris are all excited for their little brother. Now all he has to do is sleep through the night! wink!

I must add that Ben and Popo (grandma dong) have been wonderful. I haven't had to lift a finger once (except for Caden that is). I love Benjamin so much, he's the best husband and father!

We bought a new home!

We are so excited about moving into our new home! We close at the end of February. It's a cute 3 bed, 2.5 bath home in a great neighborhood. But, we need your help!

This is our new home:

Notice the dark red brick that is already on the home.

We are thinking of painting it this same house color, but with white trim and a black door...what do you think? oh, our brick is darker than the one on this home. Any feedback would be great!
